Dirt Under My Nails

It’s been quite a while since I’ve sat down to create a blog post. Not because I’ve been lazy — just busy.
Springtime always arrives with a very long To Do list around here.
The autumn leaves finally need clearing, garden beds need cleaning, plants need pampering, and everything has to be prepared for the summer blooms still waiting to come alive.
It’s a season filled with dirty hands, sore muscles, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from nurturing something and watching it grow.
Along the way, though, I’ve been capturing images whenever something caught my eye. Today I decided to slow down for a bit, go through some of those photographs, and share a few moments from the garden with you.
I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoy cultivating them.

Foxglove bloomed this week, I love the interior view of the pedals. Foxglove ( Digitalis purpurea) can be used for medicinal purposes. Interesting article about it's history, uses and dangers. https://biologyinsights.com/foxglove-benefits-medicinal-uses-and-dangers/

I do not know the name of this flower, so I call it a wildflower. Found it growing on the border of my flower beds.

My peonies bloomed this morning. I find it amazing how large and beautiful the blossoms are, not the mention the intoxicating aroma.

Yes this is a weed of some sort...

Just for some fun I uploaded one of my images of a Rhododendron
pedal to Chat GPT and requested a rendition in Georgia Okeefe style

Judy, they are lovely. Can you just see me smiling?
